I have a 15 year old daughter that is the same way, so I can relate.
I did this. I took what I wanted to spend on clothes for her and we
made a list of the things she needed. I let her pick out what she
wanted but did show her the difference if she bought the cheaper
clothing.
I told her if she would rather have three pair of the high
end jeans rather than six pair of the chearer ones that would be her
choice but to remember she had to do her own laundry and that would
mean doing it twice as often. I agree that the pressure that is put
on them to wear these clothes is tough on them and they have enough
to deal with. I was not going to make it more difficult byt making
her wear something that would get her teased.
She has become very
good at finding the cheaper stores and the sales. Good luck!
