Based on that theory of virus lving in them, babies would be constantly sick. If they were sick one time and any virus passed thru and ended up in the diapers, they would be constantly re- infecting themselves, wouldnt they. Sheesh.
Most people wash their cloth diapers thoroughly enough that there are no germs left. Between the hot water, soap, bleach (for those that use bleach) and the dryer (or clothesline), any germs are either washed away or dryed to death.
Personally I would probably use a little bleach the first time too, just for my own peace of mind. Remind your husband that after new cloth diapers are used one time then they are used!
