      Christmas Cheese Crackers

      1 cup butter or margarine, softened
      1 cup (4 ounces) grated sharp Cheddar cheese
      2 cups all-purpose flour
      2 tablespoons chopped chives
      1 teaspoon whole caraway seed
      1 teaspoon steak sauce
      1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
      1 tablespoon salt

      Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, beat butter and cheese using
      lowest speed of an electric mixer until well blended. Add next 5
      ingredients; mix until a soft dough forms. On a lightly floured surface, use
      a floured rolling pin to roll out dough to 1/4-inch thickness.

      Use a
      tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out crackers.

      Transfer to a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle salt over crackers. Bake 12 to
      15 minutes or until crackers are light brown.

      Cool completely on a wire
      rack. Store in an airtight container.

      Yield: about 3-1/2 dozen crackers
