1/2 cup butter, softened 2 cups sugar 2 eggs 6 Tbs cocoa 2 cups flour 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 2/3 cup buttermilk 1 cup boiling water 1 tsp vanilla extract
Cream butter with sugar. Beat in eggs. Mix in cocoa. Mix flour with baking powder & baking soda & add to butter & sugar mixture alternately with buttermilk. Mix in 1 cup boiling water & vanilla extract. Pour into 2 greased & floured 9 inch layer pans or a 13x9x2 inch pan & bake for 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees.
