Chili Hot Dogs 6 hot dogs or Polish sausages, fully cooked 1 onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 16-oz can baked beans OR (14-oz) can chili 1 tbs chili powder, if desired 2 tsp cumin, if desired 6 hot dog buns, split 2 tbs butter 1-1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese Place hot dogs or Polish sausage, onions, and garlic in a 4-qt slow cooker. Top with baked beans or chili. Do not stir. If using baked beans, add the chili powder and cumin for some heat. Cover the crockpot and turn it on to low and cook for 4-6 hours until hot dogs or sausages are hot and tender. Spread butter on the split hot dog buns and toast until light golden brown. Assemble the sandwiches by placing a hot dog in the prepared bun, top with some of the chili, and add cheese. Serve immediately.
