ParticipantChili-Grilled Cheese Sandwich
2 slices Texas toast
2 American singles
1/4 cup chili
1 tbs sautéed onions
2 pats salted butter
1 hot dog, sliced
Begin by putting one American single slice onto one piece of bread. Then add the chili and the sautéed onions. Carefully distribute the hotdog slices so that each bite is consistent. Try to keep those ingredients near the middle of the bread so that they don’t ooze out as grilled it. Next, add the remaining American slice and top it with the other piece of bread.
Butter both sides of the sandwich and place it in a medium sized frying pan. Turn the heat to medium and cook until one side is crispy and golden brown. At this point, flip and repeat the process until all the cheese has melted and the entire sandwich is covered in crispy crust.
Remove the sandwich from heat and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Afterwards, cut it in half with a very sharp knife.
