Cheesey Au Gratin Potatoes 2 potatoes, sliced 1/2 onion, cut into rings salt and pepper 1.5 tbs butter 1.5 tbs flour 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup milk 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese Grease a large crockpot. Put half the potatoes in the bottom of the crockpot and top with half the onions. Repeat this layering with the remaining potatoes and onions.
Season the layers with salt and pepper to taste. In a pot, melt the butter and add the flour and salt. Cook for 1 minute before whisking in the milk.
Cook for another 5 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened. Add the cheese, whisking until it is melted. Pour the cheese sauce over the potatoes and onions in the crockpot.
Cover and cook on low for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the potatoes are tender.
