You slice the potato into thin uniform slices or cut the pita into uniform
pieces then arrange on a microwave chip maker. I have made them on other
microwave dishes with ridges (to allow air to flow underneath) with success
too. The instructions say to cook potato chips for 11 – 17 minutes and pita
chips for 2 – 4 minutes.
You can season them before cooking with garlic salt
and whatever else strikes your fancy.
