Our oldest daughter had begged us for one of those day beds with the pretty little glass knobs on the ends, we ended up finding one at a garage sale pretty cheap and after a few years she grew out of it.. and of course she broke the pretty little balls off. Our son was ready for a big boy bed, so we took the bed outside, spray painted blue..

his request, got some Hotwheels cars out of his toybox, and hubby screwed them on the ends! He loved his new bed! Then we painted a wavy black stripe across the top of his room and put some more cars on it!

Our youngest needed a new dresser. We had jsut moved into our new home and had been given a dresser for our oldest daughter. She had broken the knobs of her old dresser..hmm seeing a pattern here?

Hubby ws gonna throw the dresser away but instead, I painted it white and got a bunch of wooden blocks out of the toy box and had him screw those on as handles!

Another thing I like to do, and this is for any room of the house actually.. take the outlet covers and switch plates off, paint some flowers or whatever on them with acrylic paints. You can pick them up at any craft store, sometimes 5 for $1 , once they dry give them a quick spray of clear spray paint, let them dry screw them back on and you have a whole new look for pennys!

Can change anytime you feel like it. Just take them off and soak them in some warm soapy water for about 15 minutes or so!

Some great ideas on reusing yet still making it new for the children.
      Thank you for the ideas!

ahh yes, you’ve got to come up with some good ideas! Especially when it goes from girl to boy, then back to girl. And that first girl is always breaking it!!!

Ohh she was a handful but she’s turned out amazing!!!!!!!:angel1:

For our kids rooms we always try to pick soothing colors like lavender, or shades of green and then add an accent color on the bottom half of the wall. Then you can use Scrap paper in vibrant colors as photo frame backgrounds and it will really make the photos “POP” when you hang them up. This works great in boys and girls rooms

I like the ideas 🙂 I like the line “Hubby ws gonna throw the dresser away but instead, I painted it white and got a bunch of wooden blocks out of the toy box and had him screw those on as handles!” that’s so creativity. Thanks for advising for using “colors like lavender, or shades of green and then add an accent color on the bottom half of the wall” on kids room.
