We will sometimes pick up KFC and “picnic” at the lake, hold hands and walk along the lake front, feed the ducks. It’s a fun (and relatively cheap) night out in the summer months.

Life is short. Break the rules. Forgive quickly.
      Kiss slowly.

      Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably.
And never regret anything that made you smile.

Thanks to all of you who have answered my previous questions. I have
a hubby who does not subscribe to the idea of budgeting or being
frugal. Makes it hard to try and save money.

      So, I have to be
creative; when I point out how we are saving by doing X, he sometimes
does acknowledge and agree we need to save more and spend less.

Here’s another question. Date Nights. We do a babysitting swap
      w/another family 1x/month.

So, 1x/month we get free babysitting and
1/x month they get free babysitting. The norm on our date night is
to go to a restaurant, usually a nicer one, then see a movie.
Sometimes we skip the movie & look around one of the bookstores in our
area (but we don’t often buy unless we’re at the used $1 bookstore or
have a gift card for the chains).

I’ve been trying to push him towards finding the hole-in-the wall
cheap gems for dinner with little luck. I’ve been trying to get him
to come up w/some creative date nights that cost little to nothing
w/little luck (hey, I can’t be the only one coming up w/suggestions,
and often my cheap suggestions are vetoed — the only one he’s
appreciated has been the romantic dinner at home followed by some
      “romance” at home, LOL!).

So, my fellow budgeteers, what are some of your favorite Date Night
      activities?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
