Cell phone for a 10 yr old???

why do we think 10 year olds NEED to have a cell phone? My daughter is 14 (Yes

she wants

one)and a son who is 12, neither one has one, and my children are active. If

they stay after

school they can call home on the school phone. If they are at a friends house I

better have the

phone number to the friends house any how. If they are out with a group of

friends than just

ask one of the friends if they can call home. And I do have several of my dd

friends cell

phone numbers (caller id is awesome, they call home and i keep the number in

case i might

ever need it).

my husband and i both have cell phones. he hardly ever uses his and mine the

kids call me

on when i am out doing running around. if they are home babysitting they can

still reach us

that was the reason we got our first cell phone. you might say it is only $10 a

month but

that is $10 a month for what. If you have extra money you dont care about I will

give you my

address you can send it to me. I am sorry if you dont agree with me but I try

very hard not to

play “Keep up with the Jones’s”. My kids know that they can not have everything

that they

want. The new gameboy when it comes out or what ever but they have a lot more

at home

than some of their friends that seem to have everything.

Count your blessings and teach your children not everything comes quickly and

easily.

Somethings you want you have to wait on. It won’t hurt your child because he is

the only

child in his class NOT to have something. He will live. And from my experience-

boys don’t

really talk on the phone any how.
