      No, he can't wait. If it expired at midnight on the 7th, you might want to call the agent. Most policies expire at 12:01am. So, for example, 12:01am on the 7th was the minute after midnight LAST NIGHT. But, no, there is no grace period when a policy expires or when there is a cancellation notice. I cannot tell, by your post, which this is.
