this is a bit different than the recipe posted last year…
Candy Cane Cookies II:107:
1 cup butter
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. water
2½ cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp.
salt
1½ cup quick oats
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Cream butter and vanilla. Add sugar gradually. Beat until fluffy.
Add flour, salt and add gradually to butter mixture. Stir in oats and nuts, dough will be quite stiff. Shape into “candy canes”.
Bake at 300°F -325°F for 5 – 8 min until very lightly browned. Ice as desired.
