Campfire Cabbage

Southern Fried Campfire Cabbage-n-Bacon is a dirt cheap dish that feeds the whole family. This is a really filling cheap camping meal that is easy to prepare, but it’s also one of our favorites during the nasty winter months when we want a little comfort food too

* 2-3 slices bacon, chopped up
* 1 large onion, chopped
* 1 head of cabbage, chopped
* salt pepper
* garlic powder or Freshly Minced Garlic (as much as you like)

In a large dutch oven or frying pan, cook chopped up bacon until very crispy. Add chopped onion and cabbage and stir until cabbage is wilted. Add enough water to cover.

Bring to a boil. Cook until most of the water is gone and cabbage is desired tenderness. If need be, more water can be added.

Add seasoning to taste.
