My parents came over to celebrate my daughters birthday. When mom came in, she handed me a bag that had a box in it. Before she let me open the bag, she explained this has been in her freezer and she is tired of moving it around, taking it in and out every time she cleans the deep freeze.
I open the bag. In it was a box of cake flour. This looked old.
there were coupons on the back of the box that expired on the summer of 1991. It has been frozen for over 21 years. :O really mom?!?
She said it has been frozen the whole time.
The box has never been opened. Anyone think this is still ok?
I really think I am going to make a cheap cake with it and see what happens.
If the cake turns out, I just might share it with my parents. LOL!
I put it back in my freezer afraid it would turn to dust due to the climate change. 😀

uh negative… even in the freezer, stuff has a “shelf” life… it’s not like cryogenics, where you can simply unfreeze it and it goes back to normal.

wouldn’t it be cool if the cake still turned out fine?

oh, I wouldn’t go as far as saying it is like a walmart cake. I would never downgrade a cake that low. I am thinking dunkin hines brownies.

here are the pictures of the flour, note the coupons on the back of the box done have upc codes. i also have pictures of the cake. i did 2 round cakes because one payer is going to mom I dipped my finger in the batter and it didn’t taste funny.
the cake feels spongy when touched.
