Make your own buttermilk!
1 cup of milk (must be at least 2% or there’s not enough fat to react)
2 tablespoons lemon juice.Mix, cover, and let sit 10 minutes, then it’s ready for use - March 1, 2015 at 1:04 am #460863

This explained so much to me! Allergic to milk so I was using coconut milk or almond milk and it sure doesn’t work to make Buttermilk out of it!
