Oh … It’s good to know I am not alone. They told me in orientation

three days into my new job about the once a month payday. This was

crappy because I started in the last week of September. Therefore, I

was not eligible for that paycheck for September. Because they

said, “I did not have enough work days required for the month of

September to receive a check”. I will get the last week of September

pay in my October check (I am told). My kicker was I hade very little

in saving because I had just got my life organized and was teaching

      myself to budget better.

Having kids on top of a job change must be hard. You have my deepest

admiration going through all of this with kids and trying to get out

of debt. I am just a struggling single with bad credit and a dog (sad

      for someone my age).

      Good luck

      Lisha

first day of work…surprise, we only get paid once a month!! This

came as a shock to me and really caught me off guard. I was not

working prior to this and while I got a small paycheck three weeks

after I started, I had to wait another entire month before I got

a “true” paycheck – I am an hourly employee. My biggest problem is

that while I am caught up now in August and September, I am going

back into debt for October. When I was not working I spent maybe $40

every two weeks in gas, now its $50-75 a WEEK in gas plus $100 a week

in daycare that we didn’t have before. That is a lot of money to

      shell out before getting paid.

themselves out eventually though….I am thinking of taking on a

second job and/or have been looking for a job closer to home but

after looking for the four months, this was the only job I had an

offer on. My guess would be to really watch where your money goes

and try hard to not overspend if at all possible and get further into

      debt.
