My friends in Nocona, tx live near an elementary school. at the end of
every school year they see teachers dumping supplies in the dumpster – new
supplies. they get what they can out of the dumpster for their grandkidsand other families. i’ve read about this same thing many times on internet
groups.
of course i also know families who do the same thing. every year they throwout scissors, rulers, backpacks, etc. and buy everything new for the next
school year.
