A couple of ideas that my 4-H club has done:
Feed our local Ruritans (a civic group), they meet monthly and cater the meals. They guarantee like 40 people and we prepare & serve the meal. The 4-H families donate the food so there is no overhead, just pure profit.
We have sold Home Interior candles at a great profit. Now is the perfect time to do so. They make great teacher gifts.
Our youth group at church is considering selling poinsettias in December. A local nursery will allow us to purchase them for a discount and we can set our own price for them. We are also considering having a babysitting service the day after Thanksgiving.
