I’ve been meaning to reply to this too. I am only working part time right now
and am also on unemployment. Even when my kids are in school full days (would be
gone from 8:20 to 4pm) I don’t want to go back to a full time job.

      I did that
for years and it’s just so hard to try and do everything and do it well. My dh
is supportive of this on and off. He just found out that our health insurance
company is going to go bankrupt, so we’ll have to pick another company and it
      will cost us more.

So then he tells me he can’t wait for me to get another full
time job so I can carry the health insurance again. I know everyone else in the
family (extended family) expects that I’m going to get a full time job too. So
my job is to do as good as possible with our finances and try to pay off as much
debt as possible so that I don’t have to go back to work full time.

I don’t mind working while the kids are in school, but I want to be home to get
them on the bus and get them back off at the end of the day. I do have a back up
babysitter if needed, but I don’t want to have to send the kids all the time.
I’ve also thought about some self employment ideas too.

I am halfway supported by my hubby. He is actually the one that told me
to stay home with the kids and not worry about an outside job but every
now and than he mentions that after our youngest starts kindergarten
this fall that I could go back to work while the kids are at school. He
doesn’t really push it but he knows that I like to have my own money and
that is also why he doesn’t complain about me doing a little babysitting.
