You’re right, we were lucky…when we bought the house in fla we owned
we went thru the va and didn’t have a dime down..but, we only paid
40,000.00 for the 3 acres and the house…3 bedrooms, two bath…about
1300sq ft…well worth it…considering we paid 298.00 that included
insurance and taxes..it was in a nice woodsy area..with few
neighbors..but then everyone started moving out that way..lol…when we
moved lots around us…3/4 acre lots were selling for around 80,000.00
just the land…I can’t even imagine paying that for just the land…

month for my mortgage. Our lender found two local programs which assisted with
down payment and supplemented your interest on the house. because of hubby’s
prior military service, we were able to use his gi bill which meant we did not
need pmi. we also have super low taxes here because the home is older. i think
last years property taxes were $18!
