Can you make a couple (or more) of budgets
for him to choose from? That way he still has input without spending all
his home time writing them up? Do you not speak to him while he’s
OOT? You can start with the basics – things that must be paid every
month; those aren’t negotiable expenditures. The extra stuff is
where you will need to negotiate the details. Nothing is hopeless if both

Where to start?

There is NO way my husband is going to sit down and do the budget with
me.

Partially because he is only home for 8 days a month, and partially
because paper looks good until something is needed.

Is it hopeless?
