      From what I read – the motivation is for them to pack their lunch, so that they can keep their lunch money for their own spending pleasure.
      But you make a good point too- they could forget to make their lunch, not want to spend their money and just skip lunch – which is not good either.

      Granted, my child is too young for elementary school at this point, but I am curious as to this line of thinking. I have heard several parents do it.
