ParticipantToday I came up with this using items on hand I bought with coupons. If
your store doubles them like mine, all the better for saving money.
Now, a recipe for saving time:1 24oz bag of green giant broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and cheese
frozen veggies
2 cans swanson chicken broth, reduced sodium
1 can campbells broccoli cheese soup
1/2 cup of borden shredded cheese
1 Tbsp. flour mixed with 1/4 cup water to thicken
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup half and halfPut first 3 ingredients in pot and let boil for about 1/2 hour. Stir
occasionally. Add milk and cream and flour mixture, stir often. And
when well mixed and cooked together, about 5 minutes, add cheese last
and stir often becasue it will fall to bottom of pot and burn. Put in
bowls, let cool first, and serve. Very yummy and extra cheesy. You
could omit extra cheese. Powdered or canned milk is fine if you’d
rather do that, a little bit of milk makes it creamier.
