      Bursting Firework Favors

      Prep time: 10 min.

      What you’ll need:

      An assortment of your favorite Mars candies, such as milky way and 3

      musketeers brand miniatures, starburst brand fruit chews, skittles

      brand bite size candies and m&m’s® brand milk chocolate candies

      red and/or blue cellophane

      red, white and blue pipe cleaners

      red, white and blue beads

      what to do:

      gather an assortment of your favorite mars candies, such as milky way

      and 3 musketeers brand miniatures, starburst brand fruit chews,

      skittles brand bite size candies and m&m’s brand milk chocolate

      candies.

      wrap candy in red or blue cellophane.

      tie with pipe cleaners and arrange them like bursting fireworks.

      secure beads to the tips of the pipe cleaners by twisting each pipe

      cleaner below and above the bead.

      summer cones

      prep time: 20 min.

      Baking time: 20 min.

      What you’ll need:

      1 bag M&M’S Candies

      1 bag SNICKERS Miniatures, chopped

      1 18.25-oz. box yellow cake mix

      2 16-oz. cans vanilla frosting

      24 ice cream sugar cones

      Red food coloring

      Sprinkles

      24 paper cupcake liners

      2 12-cup standard size muffin tins

      What to do:

      Prepare yellow cake mix according to the package directions. Fold in

      the chopped SNICKERS Miniatures, before transferring the batter to

      cupcake paper-lined muffin tins. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven

      for 20 minutes. Cool completely.

      Tint the frosting pink with a few drops of food coloring.

      Fill each sugar cone with 1 tablespoon of M&M’S Candies.

      TIP: You can use flat bottom wafer cones in place of sugar cones.

      Remove the paper liners from the cupcakes. Top the cones with the

      cupcakes, and cover with pink frosting.

      Decorate with M&M’S and sprinkles.

      Makes 24 cones.

      Create-A-Spyglass

      Prep time: 5 min.

      Decoration time: 15 min.

      What you’ll need:

      8 singles (1.69 oz)M&M’S Jack’s Gems

      8 singles (1.74 oz) M&M’S Peanut Chocolate Captain’s Gold

      8 singles (1.5 oz) M&M’S White Chocolate Pirate Pearls

      8 paper towel cardboard tube

      8 sheets tan construction paper

      Clear plastic wrap

      Glue

      Tape

      Scissors

      Stickers, trim, ribbon and/or glitter

      Paint or markers, optional

      Black or brown craft foam, optional

      What to do:

      Fill the cardboard tubes with the singles of M&M’S Chocolate Jack’s

      Gems, M&M’S Peanut Chocolate Captain’s Gold, M&M’S White Chocolate

      Pirate Pearls.

      Tape both ends closed with 3-inch circles cut from plastic wrap.

      Wrap the tubes with one sheet of construction paper and secure closed

      with tape.

      Cut 16 strips of craft foam, 1 1/2-inches wide by 6-inches long. Glue

      one strip on each end of each tube. Decorate tubes with stickers,

      ribbons, etc.

      Makes 8 spy glasses.

      Make-a-Cake Contest

      Prep time: 20 min.

      Baking time: 45 min.

      1 bag snickers minis

      1 bag milky way minis

      1 bag M&M’S Chocolate Candies

      1 bag M&M’S Almond Chocolate Candies

      1 bag M&M’S MINIS

      1 box (18.25-oz.) yellow cake mix

      1 box (3.4-oz.) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling

      2 cans (16-oz.) vanilla frosting

      2 6-cup jumbo cupcake pans

      12 jumbo paper cupcake liners

      8 plastic knives

      Various sized bowls

      What to do:

      Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cupcake pans with paper cupcake

      liners.

      Roughly chop 2 cups of snickers minis. prepare cake mix according to

      the pound cake instructions, which includes instant pudding. fold in

      chopped snickers minis. divide the batter evenly between the prepared

      cupcake pans.

      bake for 18-21 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes

      out clean. Remove from oven, transfer to wire rack and let cool

      completely.

      Set each cupcake on a small paper plate. Cut the milky way minis in

      small squares and arrange them in various sized bowls along with

      m&m’s candies, m&m’s almond chocolate candies and m&m’s minis

      candies.

      let children decorate as desired.

      Candy Award Ribbon

      What you’ll need:

      Your favorite Mars candies, such as M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies fun

      size, snickers, milky way, twix, skittles,

      3 musketeers miniatures and starburst fruit chews

      wide ribbon

      felt or construction paper

      markers

      scissors

      double-sided tape

      what to do:

      cut a length of ribbon to fit comfortably over a kid’s head.

      gather two ends and place them one over the other, taped together

      underneath. then tape a circle cut from paper or felt over this.

      using marker or felt letters, label as “fastest runner” or “best kid

      to toss a softball with,” etc. embellish the “medallion” with glitter

      to make it sparkle. decorate the ribbon by taping on your favorite

      mars candy.

      award as a prize for winning a race or doing an activity, or just as

      a gift for being a special kid.

      if in a group of kids, be sure every kid gets a medal.

      makes 1 award ribbon.

      it’s not summer without a sundae bar! set up a table with a variety

      of ice cream flavors and toppings. melt some dove chocolate to make

      the fudge and chop twix bars, snickers bars, m&m’s minis and skittles

      for great selection of tasty toppings!

      • sunny centerpiece

      add a sunny centerpiece to your summer party! cover styrofoam spheres

      with skittles to look like a beach ball. place the centerpiece into a

      box of wheatgrass, and you’ll have made a candy centerpiece your

      friends won’t stop talking about!
