This recipe is quite different from what I’ve posted before or what Armymonof2, rtebals or BiggerPiggyBank has posted since it is strictly for the campsite;-D
Beef Stroganoff for the Campground
2 lb beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
10 oz fresh mushrooms, halved
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
2 tsp paprika
1 cup sour cream
2 tbs flour
1 tbs Dijon mustard
16-oz pkg egg noodles, uncooked
2 tbs chopped fresh parsley
Place meat, mushrooms, onions and garlic in a Dutch oven.
Add broth and paprika. Cover with lid. Cook on low coals for eight hours or a high fire for five hours, stirring regulary.
Mix sour cream, flour and mustard. Stir into ingredients in Dutch oven until blended. Cook, covered, for15 min.
Meanwhile, cook noodles as directed on package, omitting salt (I usually make these at home and throw in a large baggie to use for this meal).
Place noodles in large serving bowl. Add meat mixture. Mix lightly.
Sprinkle with parsley. Serves 8
