I love okra, too, and can eat it in any fashion. My DD was always challenging me to cook meals on the campfire like I would prepare at home. One year I took up the challenge to make soup as we were camping in January and I knew that an ice storm was coming. Not a problem — we put up the dome tent (it iced over like an igloo and we were sitting around in our underwear because we were so warm) and we climbed trees to hang a tarp over the camp fire to protect it! LOL! Needless to say, I won that challenge!
The proper receptacle in this case was to pour the grease on the fire. My suggestion for the other ingredients is to dump them all together at home in one container and add to the pot all at once. This is a good first night meal on a camping trip…especially one during the winter (or ice storm!).
