35 to 40 soda cracker squares 1 cup (2 sticks) butter 1 cup packed brown sugar 1 bag (10 ounces) peanut butter chips Chopped salted nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease 15?-by-10?-inch pan.
Line pan with soda crackers.
In small saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar. Bring to boil and boil 3 minutes. Pour mixture over crackers and bake in preheated oven 10 minutes. Remove from oven and press crackers into sauce to be sure they are covered and neatly lined up in rows. Immediately sprinkle chips over top. Let melt and spread. Top with nuts if desired. Cool slightly then cut into squares while still warm following the shapes of the crackers. Cool completely in refrigerator. Makes about 35.
