      This is an easy gift from your kitchen — make, pour into jars and gift with the recipe for the pesto or recipes to use the pesto!Basil Pesto
      2 cups fresh basil leaves, washed and dried thoroughly (pat them dry with a paper towel, if necessary)
      2 tbs pine nuts
      2 garlic cloves, peeled and roughly chopped
      1/4 tsp fine sea salt
      1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
      1/4 cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano
      1/4 cup grated Romano
      Place the basil, pine nuts, garlic, and salt in a food processor and pulse until pureed into a smooth paste.
      Transfer to a small bowl and stir in the olive oil until evenly mixed.
      Stir in the cheeses until mixture is homogenous. Makes 1 cup
