      I always make Baked Candy Apples.

      10 Red Delicious Apples, peeled, cut in half with seeds gone.

      Pare parboil the apples in Quart size pan on the stove top.

      Cover with half water, brown sugar 1c. When apples are tender remove them from the pan set aside.

      In the parboiled water add few drops of red food color, add 1 cup of sugar, 1cup of Karo syrup one bag of cinnamon red hots. This will come to a boil make sure all redhots dissolves.

      This will also thicken as it boils. Add apples to a 10x 13 baking dish that has been buttered. Once sauce has thickened and red hots are dissolved pour mixture over the apples and put in a 350 oven and bake for hour. Mixture will become even more thick and the apples will absorb all the goodness and turn really pretty red. Really good on your plate with the color of red and yummy with ham or turkey.
