I came across these gorgeous autumn candle jars for fall and wanted to share them.
here’s how to reproduce them, go on a fall walk or hike some place pretty and collect a leaves (maple leaves work great!)
you’ll also need some jars (any kind you like, but mason or ball canning jars work well), some dried beans or quinoa (beans are much cheaper!) and some chalk paint or (flat) spray paint.
attach the leaves to the jars using a dab from a glue stick or hot glue (which will peel right off when you’re done) or even double sided tape.
paint the jar, leaving the outlined of the leaf.
to be fair, if you don’t want to go find real leaves, you can print one out on your computer and cut it out with scissors.
once the jar dries completely, attach ribbons or raffia to finish it off, fill it halfway with beans or quinoa (or sand, etc) and insert a candle in the jar.
cheapie dollar store metal tongs work great for positioning the candle, btw.
use a piece of spaghetti to light the candle easily, just light one end of a dry piece of spaghetti on fire and light the candle.
the photo is from hobby lobby, you can get your craft paints there if you like. i just made my own Chalk paint using the recipe from the site.
