Applesauce Kielbasa*
2 lb kielbasa sausage
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup chunky applesauce
3 tbs Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic, mincedCut the kielbasa into 1-inch pieces and combine them with the brown sugar, applesauce, mustard, and garlic in a 3-quart slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until the sausage is thoroughly heated and the sauce is bubbly. Serves 12*This can be served as an appetizer — use toothpicks to get the sausage from the sauce and a spoon to scoop sauce for dipping. OR…serve as a main dish over pasta, baked or mashed potatoes, or rice pilaf. Either way, it’s still a 12-serving appetizer or main dish — buttered carrots would be a good side dish!
