Apple Sausage with Onion and Mustard Sauce
1 1/2 to 2 pounds chicken apple sausage links or similar smoked sausage
1 medium sweet onion, sliced
4 tablespoons Creole mustard or other grainy mustard
4 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
4 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons honey
Preparation:
Cut sausages into 1- to 2-inch chunks. Put sliced onion in the bottom of a slow cooker; top with the sliced sausages. Combine remaining ingredients in a large cup or small bowl and pour over the sausages. Cover and cook on LOW for 5 to 7 hours, or on HIGH for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours. Serve with rice or noodles and a side vegetable, or cut into smaller pieces and serve as an appetizer. Serves 6 to 8 as a main dish. - May 9, 2009 at 3:36 pm #421201tsgal
This would be a great recipe to make for family get togethers. My DH’s family likes to do get togethers thru out the year. So this is something that I will make for sure. My MIL usually makes BBQ wienies. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
