I’m making this awesome Apple Fritter Cake for the Superbowl tomorrow! Even if you don’t like apples, you’ll love apple fritter cake. This cake is packed with apples, cinnamon, and sugar, and it’s absolutely delicious. Trust me, you won’t be able to resist!
Photo Link to Louise H PinThere are a few things that make this cake so special. First of all, the apples. I use Cortland apples in my cake, because they’re tart and crispy. But you could also use Granny smith, Macintosh or another type of apple. It’s really up to you. The important thing is to use fresh apples. You don’t want the apples to be mushy, because then the cake will be too dense.Another important element is the cinnamon. I use a lot of cinnamon in my cake because I think it really brings out the flavor of the apples. If you don’t like cinnamon, you can always reduce the amount that you use. But I think it’s worth trying it with the cinnamon because it really does make a difference.

In a separate bowl mix together the ingredients listed for the topping; it will be thick so drop even sized scoops of it evenly over the apples.
Drag a knife through the batter using a swirly motion, allowing the topping to mingle with the apples and batter below. Bake at 350 degrees for at least 40 minutes. If the apple chunks are too large you may need to increase the time slightly. Cover with foil If the top is getting too brown Once baked let sit for 20 minutes and then pour the glaze all over the cake.Apple Fritter Cake Recipe- Print Now
