ModeratorApple Cider Spice Mix
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground mace
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmegFor Spiced Apple Cider
8 ounces apple cider or dry red wine
2 teaspoons hot spiced cider mix
1 cinnamon stick
1 orange rind twists or lemon twistFor Spice Mix

Combine all ingredients and store in airtight container.
To Make Spiced Apple Cider or Wine

Heat wine or cider until hot but not boiling.
Steep the Apple Cider Spice Mix in the liquid until sugar is dissolved.

my family and i enjoy spiced cider, i put a gallon in the crock and warm it with spices on the weekend so everyone can enjoy the cider. however, buying the spice premade was getting pricey. thank you for this recipe my family cannot tell it is not the purchased stuff and it uses spices i already have and never use.
thank you so much. we have already saved at least $20 and the winter is not even over.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I love hot cider on a cold winter day. Isn’t it amazing how fast the little things add up in the budget. A few dollars here, a couple dollars there… soon becomes thousands by the end of the year. 🙂
