You should check out for your husband to file injuried spouse. I did that once

and ended up getting part of our tax return back because my hubby owed child

support (thankfully that was about 7 years ago and its all paid in full no

oweing). Anyway it might be worth looking into.

I understand that you could use the money from the check. But try to look at it

like this. it will be another bill paid off sooner and then you can use that

money to put towards something else, like doctor bills for your children.
