Having had a child that went through this EXACTLY- the movement that helps is a bicycle movement with the legs-alternating with a “frog hop”as well as rubbing the tummy in a circular, clockwisemotion. We also took turns holding her by the classic colic hold- baby’s tummy down on your forearm, head by your elbow. For us it turned out to be a milk allergy and silent reflux that the baby was reacting to.
It’s so hard when you see they are in so much pain and you can’t figure out what’s wrong.
I’m not sure what the vaseline would do unless there’s a bad diaper rash accompanying the bowel movements. Babies this little don’t have hard stools.
Hang in there- email me if you need more info on the reflux and milk allergy.
God Bless-
Holly

When you bring her legs up to her tummy put your other hand on her tummy for support for her to push against.
Put vaseline around her rectum opening.
