Can you put the student loans in deferment? At least until you save up for baby?

I am in a blunder to know what to do. First of all we are having a baby
and the insurance stinks. I have to assume that my attempt at a vaginal
birth after 2 c-sections will fail. I will owe on myself $2,000 and 20%
for the next $2000. Last c-section was about $19,000 overall..so
basically on myself I will owe $4,000 and the first $2,000 of my
daughter. Should I save my money to go toward the deductable or start
paying the smallest private student loans and pay what we can when the
baby arrives and focus paying down that debt when it comes?
