Adding hot water to baths or washers

My MIL keeps a huge stock pot over the pilot light on her stove at all times.
It warms it really well, if it sits there all day. She will add it to her
washer(she doesn’t have hot water hooked up to her washer). Or she will add it
to the bath water to save on the propane.

Or in the winter she keeps the pot
sitting on top of her wood burning stove.
