i have read that you can use clove oil or even put a clove in/on the abscess and bit down on it. it is supposed to numb the pain.
if you can not get to a dentist right now because of $, you can call around and sometimes a dentist will pull the tooth for a small fee. some cities and counties have programs that you can check into.
