LOL, I knew it had been awhile since dh had a chance to play on the wii, but when he climbed onto the ol’ wii fit last night, it said, “Nice to see you, been a LONG time” lol. That thing is too funny!

Yesterday was far too cold to get a walk in, (well, for me at least!) so I logged an hour on the wii. I love the boxing- it’s rather cathartic.

Has anyone tried the new wii Fit plus? Do you like it?

I finally broke down and bought it too and I love that when you create your own routine and customize it, you can just set the wii controller down and go through the whole thing without any interruption. It makes all the difference.

I just wish I had more time the last couple weeks to do it. We’ve been “remodeling” hehe, articles to following Soon!

If you like the boxing on wii fit, or the plus, might I suggest the Cardio Trainer “game”? I am not sure the exact name, but I know that is the basis; using boxing as a cardio workout, and I must say, it is quite fulfilling, though I do not use it as much anymore since I moved out of my mother’s.

I may give that one a try, I haven’t used the wii in AGES. I always say I’m going to hook it up and do it, but I never seem to “get around to it”.

I was thinking of trying zumba on the wii, was just wondering if anyone out there actually lost weight using the wii

I was wondering the same thing. I have thought about getting a wii and some fitness games, but do they really work or are they cheezy? I have only played a bowling game on wii.

If you don’t already have one, I wouldn’t waste the money. Our youngest worked a couple summers ago roofing all summer long and saved all the money he made to buy an XBox360 with Kinect- that thing is absolutely AMAZING. You don’t have to have controllers connected to you, it doesn’t “drop” you or shut the controller off while you’re in the middle of trying to do one of the exercises. Ours was fun.. for awhile and then it got very very boring.

I have Zumba for the Wii. I must say, OMG!!! Drink a bottle of water before you start.

I am completely serious. Also, stretch for 10 minutes prior to starting. Then, make sure to wear sneakers because they will help support your ankles as you move about.

Finally, you will feel like a total dork in the beginning. It gets easier and you will break a sweat after 2 or 3 songs. I love it.

Another good Wii game is Wii Active. It is a total fitness workout game and it kicks your butt. My husband has lost weight using that one.

Make sure to plan enough time to include a shower afterward. It will be greatly needed.

I love the Wii still (although, I really want an 360 w/connect). I LOVE Zumba on it, it’s so much fun. I tend to play a lot of dancing games and Wii Fit Plus.

I love the boxing. I am not a fan of the Jillian Michaels 2009 DVD (sorry I don’t know the name off the top of my head). It kind of makes me not like Jillian…

she says something along the lines of “I couldn’t have done it better myself, oh wait, it’s me” which I find very frustrating and inappropriate.. plus, as long as you move your arm the game thinks you are running/jogging. It’s also very hard to read other exercises (like the monkey bars, tire run, etc) if you aren’t doing it exactly right.
