30-Minute Yeasty Dinner Rolls
Everyone loves freshly baked soft yeasty dinner rolls, but who has time for that? We all do, seriously, because these only take 30 minutes to make. Shhhhh… don’t tell your family, let them think you slaved at it
You need:
- 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 cup bread flour
In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm water, oil, yeast, and sugar; let rest for 5-10 minutes, to let the yeast proof.
Attach the dough hook, mix in salt, the egg, and 2 cups of the bread flour until combined.
Add the remaining flour 1/2 cup at a time (the dough will be a little sticky and that’s fine, it’s supposed to be).
Spritz your hands with cooking spray and shape the dough into 12 even pieces.
Place the dough pieces on a lightly greased cookie sheet and let rise for 10 minutes.
Bake for about 10-12 minutes (until the tops of the rolls are golden brown)
Immediately brush the warm rolls with melted butter. If you don’t have a stand mixer, just mix the ingredients in the order that was given, then overturn the dough onto a very lightly floured counter or board and knead it gently for a couple of minutes. This one really doesn’t need a lot of attention, it’s pretty basic.
