You and you son both need to stick up for yourselves and not tolerate this behavior. I have taught my children not to start anything or antagonize, but if someone begin bullying them or lays a hand on them for them to defend themselves. They have also been taught to defend themselves verbally.

If you let it be known you will not tolerate verbal or physical bullying, it will not happen to you.

i had a similar experience with a little boy in our neighborhood just after we moved here. he is the same age as my daughter (six) and just a holy terror to be around. horrible language, hitting, breaking my daughter's toys – you name it, he did it.

i took another track with him – empathy.

any time i saw him out on the street – even if he wasn't paying any attention tomy daughter and I – I would say something along the lines of “Hey, Billy (not his real name), I noticed you are getting pretty good at riding your bike with no hands.” “Hey, Billy! I noticed you put that popsicle stick in the trash can.”

      etc, etc.

after a couple weeks, he'd come over and talk to me. Come to find out, his home life was horrid – beyond horrid. He didn't know how to be nice.

(I did contact CPS because it was so bad but they said they couldn't do anything)

the next time i saw him picking on my daughter and one of her friends, all it took was “billy, would you be nice to the girls for me? thanks.” never had another problem with him.

he still tormented the other kids in the neighborhood because he knew that their parents would yell at him. and, yelling was the only attention he had ever gotten at home – he craved that attention.

i know this won't work on every kid out there.

But, it might be worth a try.

I was taking the long way around my apartment complex to take a
walk, and I saw three boys playing on the swing set in the playground.( 2
of these boys-beat up/picked on my son when we first moved in)the other

is another kid who is always getting into touble and has also picked on
my son one time or another,I have always gotten along with these kids
more or less on a one on one basis, except today. As I was approaching

the swings, they all glanced my way, then when I was walking past
them, one of them started singing”here comes Godzilla” then the other
boy commented, hey she is trying to loose weight…she looks like a pig!

I responded”you need to get some manners”they all stayed quiet for a
moment then one of them said something and they all started laughing!
It kind of hurt my feelings and I can imagine what is going to happen

to my son if he rides the school bus with these kids! How would you
guys handle these kids??They have no respect for adults anymore at all!
