Budget101 Fall Comment Giveaway Official Rules

The Budget101 Fall Comment Giveaway (“Giveaway”) is sponsored by Budget101.com (“Sponsor”). By participating in the Giveaway, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final regarding administration of the Giveaway.

1. Giveaway Period

The Giveaway begins at 12:00:00 a.m. Eastern Time on August 19, 2026 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time on October 31, 2026 (“Giveaway Period”).

The Giveaway is divided into the following Weekly Drawing Periods:

All dates and times are based on Eastern Time and the Sponsor’s website/server records.

2. Eligibility

The Giveaway is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

Employees, administrators, editors, contractors, agents, and representatives of Budget101.com, and members of their immediate households, are not eligible to win.

The Giveaway is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

3. How to Enter

During the Giveaway Period, visit an eligible article on Budget101.com and submit an original, relevant comment through the article’s regular comment form.

Each qualifying approved comment earns one entry.

There is no limit to the number of qualifying entries an eligible person may submit during the Giveaway Period.

To receive multiple entries, each comment must independently satisfy these Official Rules.

There is no purchase, payment, subscription, donation, or other financial transaction required to enter.

4. What Is a Qualifying Comment?

A comment must be submitted by a real person and must relate meaningfully to the Budget101 article on which it appears.

Qualifying comments may include, for example:

Personal experiences with the recipe, project, tip, or subject of the article
Ingredient substitutions or variations
Helpful tips
Questions
Troubleshooting questions or experiences
Constructive criticism
Suggestions
Storage, preparation, serving, or usage ideas
Results after trying a recipe or project
Relevant responses to other readers’ questions or comments

A comment does not need to be positive to qualify.

Positive comments, negative comments, questions, constructive criticism, and neutral comments are treated equally for Giveaway eligibility.

A qualifying comment generally must contain at least 20 characters of substantive content after formatting is removed.

5. Comments That Do Not Qualify

The Sponsor may determine that a comment is not a qualifying entry if it:

Is spam
Is generated or submitted by a bot or automated system
Is copied from another comment or source
Is substantially identical to another entry submitted by the same entrant
Repeats substantially the same comment across multiple articles
Is unrelated to the article
Contains only generic statements such as “Great recipe,” “Looks good,” “Yummy,” “Entering,” “Pick me,” or similar non-substantive language
Exists primarily to mention the Giveaway rather than discuss the article
Contains advertising, promotional links, affiliate links, or unsolicited URLs
Contains false or intentionally misleading claims
Impersonates another person
Uses multiple identities or email addresses for the purpose of evading these rules
Contains threatening, hateful, obscene, harassing, defamatory, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate content
Violates Budget101’s normal comment policies
Is subsequently identified as fraudulent or ineligible
Is moved to Spam or Trash
Is deleted or becomes unapproved before the applicable drawing

Approval of a comment for publication on Budget101.com does not automatically guarantee that the comment qualifies as a Giveaway entry.

The Sponsor may approve a comment for ordinary website discussion while separately determining that it is not eligible for a Giveaway entry.

6. Unlimited Entries

There is no numerical entry limit.

An eligible entrant may submit multiple qualifying comments during a Weekly Drawing Period.

For example, if an entrant submits 15 separate qualifying comments during a Weekly Drawing Period, that entrant receives 15 entries in that week’s drawing.

Submitting more qualifying comments increases the number of entries an entrant has in the applicable random drawing.

Quantity does not override the quality requirements in these Official Rules. Duplicate, repetitive, irrelevant, automated, or non-substantive comments will not receive additional entries.

7. Weekly Entry Periods

Each qualifying comment is assigned to the Weekly Drawing Period in which it was originally submitted.

Entries do not carry forward into later weekly drawings.

For example, a qualifying comment submitted during Week 2 is eligible for the Week 2 drawing but is not an entry in the Week 3 drawing.

A new qualifying comment submitted during Week 3 creates a new Week 3 entry.

8. Weekly Prizes

One winner will be selected for each Weekly Drawing Period.

Each weekly winner will receive:

One $25 Walmart Gift Card or Walmart eGift Card

Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of each weekly prize: $25.00

There are 11 weekly prizes available during the Giveaway Period.

Total approximate retail value of all weekly prizes: $275.00

Gift-card format may be physical or electronic at the Sponsor’s discretion.

Gift cards are subject to the terms and conditions imposed by their issuer.

Prizes may not be transferred or substituted by the winner. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize becomes unavailable.

No cash alternative will be provided except where required by law.

Walmart is not a sponsor of, affiliated with, administering, or responsible for this Giveaway. Walmart trademarks are the property of their respective owner.

9. Weekly Winner Selection

After each Weekly Drawing Period closes, the Sponsor will randomly select one potential winner from all qualifying entries received during that Weekly Drawing Period.

Each qualifying comment represents one entry in the applicable drawing.

Therefore, an entrant with multiple qualifying comments in that Weekly Drawing Period will have multiple entries in the random drawing.

The Sponsor’s Comment Growth Engine records qualifying entries and the corresponding WordPress comment records used for the drawing.

The Sponsor may maintain an audit record that includes:

Drawing period
Number of qualifying entries
Winning entry number
Associated comment ID
Date and time of drawing
Winner status
Any redraw or disqualification

The Sponsor’s decisions regarding entry eligibility and administration of each drawing are final.

10. Odds of Winning

The odds of winning a Weekly Drawing depend on the total number of qualifying entries received during that Weekly Drawing Period.

For example, if 1,000 qualifying entries are received during a Weekly Drawing Period, each qualifying entry has a 1-in-1,000 chance of being selected in that drawing.

Because entrants may receive more than one entry by submitting multiple qualifying comments, an entrant’s overall odds depend on both the total number of entries in the drawing and the number of qualifying entries submitted by that entrant.

11. Winner Notification

Potential winners will be contacted using the email address submitted with the winning Budget101 comment.

Entrants are responsible for providing a valid email address that they can access.

A potential winner may be required to respond to the Sponsor’s notification within five calendar days.

The Sponsor may request reasonable information needed to verify the winner’s identity and eligibility.

If a potential winner:

Cannot be contacted
Provides an invalid email address
Does not respond within the required time
Is determined to be ineligible
Cannot verify eligibility
Declines the prize
Violates these Official Rules

the potential winner may be disqualified and the Sponsor may randomly select an alternate winner from the remaining qualifying entries for that drawing.

The Sponsor will never require a winner to pay a fee to receive a prize.

12. Winner Announcements

The Sponsor may publicly announce a winner’s first name, first name and last initial, username, city/state, or other limited identifying information after the winner has been verified.

The Sponsor will not publicly display a winner’s private email address.

Where permitted by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to identify the entrant as a Giveaway winner without additional compensation.

13. Taxes

Winners are responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes or other obligations associated with acceptance or use of a prize.

The Sponsor makes no tax representations or warranties.

14. Comment Publication and Giveaway Disclosure

Comments submitted as Giveaway entries may be published publicly on Budget101.com in accordance with Budget101’s normal comment practices.

The opportunity to receive a Giveaway entry is an incentive for participation.

During the Giveaway, Budget101 may display notices near participating comment areas informing readers that qualifying comments may earn Giveaway entries.

No particular opinion or sentiment is required.

Entrants are not required or encouraged to praise Budget101, a recipe, product, service, advertiser, merchant, or other person or company.

Negative experiences and constructive criticism are eligible on the same basis as positive comments if they otherwise satisfy these Official Rules.

The Sponsor reserves the right to moderate comments for spam, fraud, safety, unlawful content, harassment, obscenity, or other violations without regard to whether a comment is favorable or unfavorable.

15. Content Rights

Entrants retain ownership of the original content they submit.

By posting a comment on Budget101.com, entrants grant the Sponsor permission to display, reproduce, quote, excerpt, moderate, and otherwise use the comment in connection with the Budget101 website, the Giveaway, and related editorial or promotional communications, subject to applicable law and Budget101’s site policies.

An entrant represents that their submitted comment is their own content or that they otherwise have the right to submit it.

16. Privacy

Information submitted through the Budget101 comment form will be handled in accordance with Budget101’s applicable Privacy Policy.

The name or display name associated with a comment may appear publicly with the comment.

Email addresses submitted through the normal comment form are not intended to be publicly displayed and may be used to:

Administer Giveaway entries
Identify duplicate or fraudulent entries
Contact potential winners
Verify eligibility
Deliver prizes
Maintain Giveaway records

Entry information will not be used to require a purchase or payment.

17. Fraud and Abuse

The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or entry that the Sponsor reasonably determines involves:

Automated entry
Bots
Scripts
Artificially generated comment activity
Multiple identities intended to circumvent the rules
Fraud
Tampering
Harassment
Coordinated manipulation
Duplicate-comment schemes
Attempts to interfere with the operation of the Giveaway
Attempts to obtain entries through deceptive means

The Sponsor may invalidate entries associated with conduct that threatens the fairness, security, administration, or integrity of the Giveaway.

18. Technical Problems

The Sponsor is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted, incomplete, misdirected, not recorded, or otherwise affected by:

Internet outages
Website outages
Hosting problems
Software errors
Browser problems
Network failures
Comment-system failures
Security systems
Spam filters
Server problems
Other technical circumstances outside the Sponsor’s reasonable control

The Sponsor’s website and database records will be used to determine whether and when an entry was received.

19. Modification, Suspension, or Cancellation

If fraud, technical failure, security problems, legal requirements, circumstances beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control, or other events materially affect the administration, integrity, or fairness of the Giveaway, the Sponsor reserves the right, to the extent permitted by law, to modify, suspend, terminate, or cancel the Giveaway.

If the Giveaway is terminated early, the Sponsor may select winners from qualifying entries received before the effective date of termination when practical and legally permissible.

20. Release and Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, by participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its owners, employees, contractors, representatives, agents, and service providers from claims arising out of participation in the Giveaway or acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of a prize, except where such release is prohibited by law.

Nothing in these Official Rules limits any rights that cannot legally be waived.

21. Social Media Disclaimer

The Giveaway may be advertised or discussed on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, or other social-media platforms.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, this Giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Meta, Walmart, or any other third-party platform or prize issuer.

Entrants understand that they are providing Giveaway information to Budget101.com and not to those third parties.

22. Applicable Law

The Giveaway is subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

If any provision of these Official Rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

24. Official Rules Control

These Official Rules govern the Giveaway.

If there is a conflict between these Official Rules and abbreviated Giveaway language appearing in a social-media post, advertisement, article, banner, comment box, email, or other promotional material, these Official Rules control.

The Sponsor may clarify these Official Rules when necessary, provided that a clarification does not unfairly disadvantage entries already submitted.

25. Acceptance of Rules

By submitting an entry, the entrant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Official Rules.
