    • Corn Dog Mix

Corn dogs are an American Favorite, particularly at Fairs and carnivals. You don't have to pay $2 or more for a corndog, you can make them at home in just a few minutes time!

      1 cup flour
      2/3 cups corn meal
      1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
      2 tablespoons sugar
      2 tablespoons shortening

Combine all ingredients in Jar Or vacuum seal bag, makes 1 pkg mix.

      To use:
      1 egg
      2/3 c. milk
      1lb Hotdogs

      Combine mix, eggs and milk.

Insert wooden sticks into hot dogs. Dip hot dogs into batter, coating thoroughly. Deep fry until batter is browned.

Making these today. Instead of using sticks, I'm making mini corn dogs. Love them with a little good mustard!

Checked another website and the oil temperature range was from 375-385F. I'm going to shoot for 380F.

Just be careful what kind of oil you use, different oils have different flash points and higher temps can cause a fire.
