You might have seen the awesome post on FB about how to create a gorgeous hardwood floor using slivers of 2×4’s, well, here’s EXACTLY How to do it!

To begin with, install a 3/4″ plywood base layer on the floor, you don’t want it to creak or separate prematurely!

use a heavy bed of Bostic Best adhesive, 25 feet per gallon to act as moisture barrier and glue.

Cut the 2″x4″ or 4″x6″ in 3/4″ or 1″ slices. Sand them lightly, placed them down in whatever pattern you desire and then trowel fill the spaces with Glitsa wood flour fill, let it dry.

then poly seal the entire floor, once it’s dried, give it two final coats of Bona natural finish.

A note, be sure you don’t use regular grout, use the Giltsa wood flour that was recommended because the wood with shrink a little bit as it ages and the giltsa weathers much better.

here’s another photo tutorial that is step by step that can help.
