The Seattle Public Library will host Seattle Opera previews of Rossinis The Barber of Seville at several Library locations this winter. Arguably the funniest of all comic operas, Rossinis delightful, vivacious romp kicks off with an instantly recognizable overture, gains speed with a non-stop parade of hit tunes, and concludes with an all is forgiven finale bubbling over with joy. Members of Seattle Operas education staff will lead an informal opera talk designed to to answer questions and provide background information on the upcoming opera. Seattle Opera performs the operas at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer St. For a complete schedule of the operas 2010/2011 season, go to www.seattleopera.com or call 206-389-7600.
