    Default Cinnamon-Apple Breakfast Quesadillas

    2 (6-inch) flour tortillas
    1/4 cup chunky applesauce, divided
    1 teaspoon cinnamon-sugar, divided
1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
    1 tablespoon vanilla yogurt, optional

Place 1 tortilla on ungreased baking sheet. Spread half the applesauce over tortilla; reserve half for garnish. Sprinkle half of cinnamon-sugar over applesauce. Top with cheese and second tortilla. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon-sugar on top.

Bake at 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 2 minutes.

Cut into quarters and serve with reserved applesauce and vanilla yogurt.

    Makes 1 serving

That is an extremely interesting recipe! I watch a lot of Food Network television and I must say I have never heard of something like this. How does the melted cheese work with the applesauce? What is the taste like? I might just have to make this for the mere concept of it!

I don't know about the cheese part, when we make these, we completely omit the cheese. When we lived in the midwest, they VERY frequently served apple pie with cheese on it, I'd never heard of such a thing. I've been told that they flavors are quite complementary.

Warm apple pie with a slice of cheddar on top was my father's favorite dessert! This quesadilla sounds like a quick and easy facsimile. When I have apples that are very slightly past their prime, I make applesauce in the crockpot. I'll try this recipe, the next time I make the applesauce. I bet a little blue cheese would be good, too.

Mmm...with old cheddar and HM applesauce or pie filling...or just cooked apples...this would be yummy! I was thinking of making apple crumble for breakfasts yesterday; may just have to do that now...

Sounds yummy, I will have to try. I have made pear pie with cheddar cheese that was out of this world.

Monterey Jack isn't a powerful cheese, it probably keeps everything stuck together

This sounds like it would make a great dessert, too! Maybe with frozen yogurt? ...giggle...
