Tater-Tot Casserole
ground beef on sale? good! got coupons? good! need something fun and filling? good!
Tater-Tot Casserole
2 lbs ground beef
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
10 oz-can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream (low fat is okay)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
32 oz-package frozen tater tots
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray. Brown ground beef. Season with salt and pepper, while browning. Drain. Spread ground beef in the prepared baking dish. Whisk together soup and sour cream. Spread over ground beef in an even layer. Sprinkle one cup of cheddar cheese over the soup layer. Top with tater tots. Bake 30 minutes. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Bake another 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted.

I have never used the Sour cream. But this recipe is one of my families favorites!!!! Thely always ask for it

try it with the sour cream...gives an entirely different flavor, but one that the wee ones will still like

It's like shredded potatoes (hash browns) that have been formed into little balls. You can deep fry or bake them.

Goodnagirl...I see that you are in Australia! What a delight! Visiting there is on my bucket list;-D Here in the US, you can buy a frozen product -- I would never try to make these myself and I consider myself a pretty good cook - called tater tots. It's pretty much as PlexusCountry described them so maybe on your side of the world they are called something else. Hope this helps;-D
