    Default Rave Review Green Split Pea Soup

    1 lb bag split peas
    1 ham neck bone
    2 cups chicken broth
    3 cups water
    1/2 cup diced onion
    1/2 cup chopped carrot
    1/2 cup chopped celery
    1 tsp garlic salt
    1 tsp old bay seasoning
    1/8 tsp pepper

    Set on low for up to 8 hours, or high for 5. Just before serving, remove ham bone,check seasonings amd adjust if needed. Ladle out about 1/4 of the soup and blend, then add it back in. This is important for texture.
